Account Manager/ Business Development

The Opportunity

Global Village Concerns, Inc. (www.globalvillageconcerns.com) is looking for a dynamic and experienced outside sales professional to build a new territory in Southern California. This person will be an advocate for the GVC mission of implementing branding and marketing programs that help high schools become self-sufficient in their ability to raise capital on a continuous basis with zero costs to the school.

Responsibilities

Account Managers are the most important people in GVC. In this position you will be responsible for establishing relationships at all levels inside the high school administrative ecosystem in order to drive sales and maximize fund raising programs for the school. AMs are responsible for servicing existing accounts as well as identifying and winning business at new schools.

  • Establish and deepen relationships with all critical stakeholders inside the high school and in the greater high school community
  • Proactively manage GVC interactions and campaigns
  • Creatively identify new programs, prospects, and other opportunities for interaction
  • Identify and close new business opportunities

 

Skills and Characteristics

  • Demonstrated success managing an outside sales territory and achieving sales targets
  • Strong organizational planning and time management skills
  • High degree of comfort within the High School environment, including familiarity with high school athletics, spirit organizations, parent and teachers’ associations, and student groups
  • Passion for helping schools find better ways to fund activities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High energy, positive attitude & tenacity to implement programs
  • A warm, approachable manner
  • Experience in the apparel and promotional product industry is a plus

 

This position provides you with the opportunity to work in an extremely fun and fast-pace environment at an exciting growing start-up! The position will be home-based, and require little overnight travel.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. GVC offers an uncapped commission plan on top of a base salary, as well as travel expense reimbursement.
